EspañolDie spanische Sopranistin Laura Alonso wurde in Villagarcía de Arosa/Spanien geboren. Sie studierte zunächst Violine, bevor sie ein Stipendium der Alexander-von-Humboldt-Stiftung erhielt und ihre Ausbildung im Fach Gesang an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe weiterführte. Zu ihren Professoren zählten Aldo Baldin, Anna Reynolds, Jean Cox und Hartmut Höll.
Mit 23 Jahren wurde sie Ensemblemitglied des Aalto Theater in Essen und sang dort u. a. Mimi/La Bohème, Gilda/Rigoletto, Susanna/Figaro, Zdenka/Arabella, Pamina/Die Zauberflöte und Blanche/Carmelites. Für ihre herausragenden Leistungen erhielt sie den Preis als beste Nachwuchskünstlerin des Aalto Theater.
Laura Alonso gewann zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen bei internationalen Gesangswettbewerben, darunter den 1. Preis beim internationalen Gesangswettbewerb Alfredo Kraus, dem internationalen Gesangswettbewerb von Verviers, beim "Franco Corelli" Wettbewerb und beim internationalen Wettbewerb für Operngesang Jaume Aragall.
Ihre internationale Karriere als Opern- und Konzertsängerin führte Laura Alonso in renommierte Konzertsäle und Opernhäuser wie u.a. in das Concertgebouw Amsterdam, die Berliner Philharmonie, die Musikhalle Hamburg, die Kölner Philharmonie, das Auditorium von Rishon Le Zion (Israel), das Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexiko), das Theater von Guanajuato, das Theater des Herodes Atticus von Athen und in das Los Angeles Auditorium (USA). Sie debütierte außerdem in der Gesamtheit der wichtigsten Säle und Theater Spaniens.
Sie sang unter der Leitung von renommierten Dirigenten wie Ion Marin, Philipp Jordan, Stefan Soltesz, Zoltan Peszko, Victor Pablo Perez, Frühbeck de Burgos, Carlos Kalmar und Jiri Kôut in zahlreichen europäischen Theatern und interpretierte Partien wie Antonia, Zerbinetta, Susanna, Oscar, Lucia, Lulu, Giulia, Nannetta, Sophie, Elvira, Amina und Violetta.
Sie arbeitete mit Regisseuren wie Pilavachi, De Tomasi, Schaaf, Pontiggia, Berndt, Schlingensief und Hilsdorf bei den Festivals von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria und Teneriffa, beim Festival von Royaumont, den Bregenzer Festspielen, im Teatro de la Maestranza Sevilla, bei den Innsbrucker Festwochen, beim Ille de France Festival, beim Festival von Santander, beim Herbstfestival von Madrid und bei der Berliner Opernwoche.
Unter ihren jüngsten Projekten ist die Interpretation der Giulia/La scala di seta besonders hervorzuheben, die sie während einer Europatournee mit dem Freiburger Barockorchester unter der musikalischen Leitung von Attilio Cremonesi gab. An der Berliner Staatsoper debütierte sie mit großem Erfolg als Zerbinetta und für ihr Debüt bei den Innsbrucker Musikwochen als Cleopatra in Antonio Sartorios Oper Giulio Cesare erhielt sie die begehrte Auszeichnung der französichen Kritik Diapason d'Or.
Besondere Erwähnung verdienen auch ihre Erfolge als Magda/La Rondine in Utrecht, Holland mit der T.R.O.S. unter Leitung des Dirigenten Gómez Martínez oder ihre Auftritte in Salzburg, wo sie im Mozartjahr unter der Regie von Doris Dörrie die Partie der Sandrina/La finta giardiniera übernahm. In La Coruña wirkte sie in Bizets Carmen sowie bei der Spanienpremiere von Brittens The rescue of Penèlope mit.
Einen großen Teil ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit widmet sie Konzerten und Liederabenden. Zu den kommenden Auftritten zählen ein Liederabend in der Juan-March-Stiftung in Madrid sowie ein Konzert mit Manuel Burgueras im Auditorium Conde Duque. Es folgen ein Liederabend mit dem deutschen Pianisten Stephan Matthias Lademann in Santiago de Compostela sowie Konzerte mit spanischem Repertoire in den USA. Des Weiteren singt Laura Alonso 2009 die Sopranpartien im "Réquiem" von Brahms, in Händels "Messiah", in Haydns "Schöpfung" und in der 4. Sinfonie von Mahler. In der Saison 2010/11 wird sie anlässlich der Feierlichkeiten zur Europäischen Kulturhauptstadt 2010 das Aalto Theater Essen in einem Galakonzert repräsentieren und gibt im Teatro Colon/Buenos Aires ihr Debut als Lulu in Alban Bergs gleichnamiger Oper.
Zu ihrer aktuellen Diskographie zählt u.a. eine CD mit unbekannten Arien des Belcanto unter dem Titel Col sorriso d´innocenza. Dieses Werk entstand in der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Philharmonischen Orchester Malaga und erhielt hervorragende Kritiken in der internationalen Opernfachpresse.
Das spanische Label Columna Musica veröffentlichte vor kurzem ihre CD Lúa descolorida mit galizischen Liedern. 2009 wird eine weitere CD mit spanischem Repertoire erscheinen.
Spanish soprano Laura Alonso was born in Villagarcía de Arosa (Galicia). She graduated both in singing and violin. She later went on to the Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe (Germany) with a scholarship from the prestigious Alexander von Humbolt Foundation to study with Aldo Baldin, Anna Reynolds and Jean Cox and lied with Hartmut Höll, among other masters.
At 23 years of age she joined the "ensemble" of the Aalto Theater in Essen (Germany) where she sang Mimí in La Bohème, Gilda in Rigoletto, Susanna in Figaro, Zdenka in Arabella, Pamina in The Magic Flute and Blanche in Carmelites, among other roles and numerous concerts. At the aforementioned Theatre, she got the Best Artist Award by popular acclaim and she will sing again in the Ruhr 2010 European City of Culture in Essen at the Aalto Theatre.
She now sings regularly at internationally renowned Auditoriums and theatres such as the Auditorium in Rishon Le Zion (Israel), Teatro Bellas Artes in Mexico, Teatro de Guanajuato, Philharmonie de Cologne, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Konzerthaus and Philharmonie in Berlin, Karlsruhe, Dortmund and Essen, Kuppel Saal in Hannover (Germany), Herodes Aticus in Athens, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Los Angeles Auditorium (USA), Palau de Valencia and Barcelona, among others.
Ms. Alonso has won several singing awards at international competitions, among which we can highlight her First Prize in the last Alfredo Kraus Competition as well as the Franco Corelli, Verviers or Jaume Aragall Competitions.
She currently performs with conductors of international acclaim such as Ion Marin, Philipp Jordan, Stefan Soltesz, Zoltan Peszko,Víctor Pablo Pérez, Frühbeck de Burgos, Carlos Kalmar or Jiri Kôut at leading European Theatres (Pisa, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Nancy, Braunschweig, Poissy, Freiburg, Lübeck, Liceu, Breno, etc.), performing several Opera roles such as Antonia, Zerbinetta, Susanna, Oscar, Lucia, Lulú, Giulia, Nannetta, Sophie, Elvira, Amina, or Violetta in La Traviata.
She has collaborated with stage directors as A. Pilavachi, De Tomasi, Johannes Schaaf, Pontiggia, Berndt, Schlingensief o Hilsdorf at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife Festivals, at the Festival in Royaumont, Bregenzer Festspiele, Maestranza in Sevilla, at the Expo in Hannover, Innsbrucker Festwochen, Ille de France Festival, Santander Festival, at the Autumn Festival in Madrid and the Opera Week in Berlin, among other musical events.
Among her most recent roles, we can highlight Giulia in La Scala di Seta, performed during a tour with the Freiburger Barockorchester under the baton of Attilio Cremonesi. Furthermore, she excelled at the Berlin Staatsoper with Ariadne auf Naxos. With her debut at the Innsbruck Festival (Austria) in the role of Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare by Antonio Sartorio, she won the Diapason D´or, awarded by the French critics, and the CD obtained a great success.
Other special achievements include her role as Magda in La Rondine, which she performed recently in Utrecht (Netherlands) with the T.R.O.S. and Gómez Martínez as conductor, as well as her Salzburg performance in the role of Sandrina, in La Finta Giardiniera, on the occasion of Mozart Year 2006 with Doris Dörrie as stage manager.
Other recent performances have taken place in Santander and La Coruña with the Opera Carmen and also in La Coruña the Spanish Premiere of The rescue of Penelope, by Britten.
She has performed in some of the most important Auditoriums and Theatres in Spain, and at the end of 2007, she sang belcanto repertoire in the Opera Hall at Valladolid Auditorium, with the conductor Alejandro Posada and Canarian tenor Celso Albelo with duets and arias from Lakmé, Rigoletto, Elisir d´amore and Semiramide, alongside the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León.
She devotes most of the year to giving recitals and concerts. Next music key events are a Liederabend at the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, and another one at the Auditorio Conde Duque with the conductor Manuel Burgueras, as well as several Spanish music concerts in the United States.
Her most ambitious recording project was the Belcanto Arias Album "Col sorriso d´innocenza", in collaboration with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, which was published in December 2006, obtaining excellent reviews among the Opera specialised international press.
The record label Columna Musica has recently released her CD collection of Galician songs "Lúa descolorida", and another one will be released shortly with Spanish repertoire.
Among her next performances are Brahms Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Mahler's Fourth Symphony, Haydn's Creation, and a Spanish Songs Concert alongside the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.
In 2011, Laura will perform at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as Lulú in Alban Berg's Opera, conducted by the American Music Director Stefan Lano and Stage Master Alfredo Arias.

La soprano española Laura Alonso nace en Villagarcía de Arosa (Galicia). Titulada en canto y en violín, amplía sus estudios en la Musikhochschule de Karlsruhe en Alemania, con la prestigiosa beca alemana Alexander von Humboldt, para trabajar con los maestros Aldo Baldín, Anna Reynolds, Jean Cox, y lied con Hartmut Höll, entre otros maestros.
A los 23 años entra en el Ensemble del Aalto Theater de Essen (Alemania), donde interpreta Mimí en La Bohéme, Gilda en Rigoletto, Susanna en Figaro, Zdenka en Arabella, Pamina en La flauta mágica o Blanche en Carmelites, entre otros roles, y multitud de conciertos. Recibe además el Premio a la artista más destacada del citado teatro, (concedido por votación popular), y al que representará de nuevo en los fastos de la Ciudad Europea de la Cultura Ruhr 2010, en Essen en una gala lírica, en el Aalto Theater.
Actúa regularmente en salas y teatros de renombre internacional como el Auditorio Rishon Le Zion (Israel), Teatro Bellas Artes en México, Teatro de Guanajuato, Philharmonie de Colonia, Musikhalle de Hamburgo, Konzerthaus y Philharmonie de Berlín, Karlsruhe, Dortmund y Essen, Kuppel Saal de Hannover (Alemania), Herodes Aticus de Atenas, Concertgebouw de Amsterdam, Los Angeles Auditorium (E.E.U.U.), Palau de Valencia y Barcelona, entre otros.
Como ganadora de varios premios en concursos internacionales de canto destaca su Primer Premio en el último Certamen Alfredo Kraus, junto a otros como el Franco Corelli, Verviers o Jaume Aragall.
Actualmente canta con directores de reconocido prestigio como Ion Marin, Philipp Jordan, Stefan Soltesz, Zoltan Peszko,Víctor Pablo Pérez, Frühbeck de Burgos, Carlos Kalmar o Jiri Kôut, en importantes teatros europeos (Pisa, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Nancy, Braunschweig, Poissy, Freiburg, Lübeck, Liceu, Breno, etc.), interpretando diversos roles operísticos como el de Antonia, Zerbinetta, Susanna, Oscar, Lucia, Lulú, Giulia, Nannetta, Sophie, Elvira, Amina, o Violetta en La Traviata.
Ha colaborado con maestros de escena tales como A. Recientes actuaciones han tenido lugar en Santander y La Coruña con la ópera Carmen y también en esta última ciudad, con el estreno en España de la obra The rescue of Penélope, de Britten.
Ha debutado en algunas de las más importantes salas y teatros de España, y a finales del 2007, en el Auditorio de Valladolid, junto al maestro Alejandro Posada, cantando repertorio de belcanto con el tenor canario Celso Albelo en una gran gala de ópera con dúos y arias ,de las obras: Lakmé, Rigoletto, Elisir d´amore y Semiramide, junto a la Sinfónica de Castilla y León.
Dedica una gran parte del año a hacer recitales y conciertos. Entre las próximas citas se encuentra un Liederabend en la Fundación Juan March de Madrid, y otro en el Auditorio Conde Duque junto al maestro Manuel Burgueras, así como diversos conciertos de música española en EEUU.
Su proyecto discográfico más ambicioso es el disco compacto de arias poco conocidas de belcanto: "Col sorriso d´innocenza", un trabajo en colaboración con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga que fue publicado en diciembre de 2006 y que ha tenido excelentes críticas entre la prensa operística internacional.
El sello Columna Musica, ha sacado a la luz recientemente, su disco con canción gallega "Lúa descolorida", y en breve se hará otro con repertorio español.
Entre sus próximas actuaciones se encuentran entre otras el Réquiem de Brahms, el Mesías de Häendel, la cuarta sinfonía de Mahler, la Creación de Haydn, y un concierto de canciones españolas junto a la Sinfónica de Hamburgo, entre otros.
En el 2011 debutará en el teatro Colón de Buenos Aires en el papel de Lulú de la ópera de Alban Berg bajo la batuta del maestro americano Stefan Lano y la puesta en escena de Alfredo Arias.
Laura Alonso reside actualmente en Berlín y continúa su perfeccionamiento musical con las maestras Anna Reynolds e Irmgaard Hartmann.
